ফলে সবার মাঝে ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে আতংক; কারণ আমরা সাধারণত রান্নাঘরের গ্যাস সিলিন্ডার বিস্ফোরণের কথাই জানতাম এতোদিন। এসি বিস্ফোরণের খবর মাঝে মাঝে কানে আসলেও এর ভয়াবহতা সম্পর্কে অনেকেই জ্ঞাত ছিলাম না।
এরকম দুর্ঘটনা সম্পর্কে সজাগ হওয়ার সময় এসেছে। শুধুমাত্র সচেতনতাই পারে এসব অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত ঘটনার পুনরাবৃত্তি রোধ করতে। আসুন জেনে নেই কেন এসি’র বিস্ফোরণ ঘটে?
১। অনেক সময় কম্প্রেসারের ভেতরে জ্যাম লেগে থাকে, গ্যাস লিক হয়ে যায়। এই জ্যাম আর লিক সময়মতো সার্ভিসিং না করালে বিস্ফোরণ ঘটতে পারে। এছাড়া এসি’র ফিল্টার নিয়মিত পরিষ্কার না করার কারণে দুর্ঘটনা ঘটতে পারে।
২। এসি’র প্রেসার বেড়ে গেলে কম্প্রেসার বিস্ফোরণ ঘটতে পারে।
৩। অনেক সময় বার্নেবল গ্যাসের কারণেও ঘটতে পারে এসি বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনা।
৪। বেশিরভাগ সময়ই বৈদ্যুতিক হাই ভোল্টেজের কারণে এসব ঘটনা ঘটে। হাইভোল্টেজের কারণে যেকোনো ইলেক্ট্রিক মেশিনের ওপর চাপ সৃষ্টি হলেই সেখানে সমস্যা হয় এবং একসময় বিস্ফোরণের মতো পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়।
৫। বজ্রপাতের কারণে অনেক সময় এসি বিস্ফোরণ ঘটতে পারে।
এসি’র বিস্ফোরণজনিত দুর্ঘটনা এড়াবেন যেভাবেঃ একটু সচেতনতা আর সতর্কতা অবলম্বনই এসব ঘটনা থেকে পরিত্রাণ পাওয়ার একমাত্র পথ।
১। ২৪ ঘণ্টা এসি চালু রাখবেন না। দীর্ঘক্ষণ চালু থাকলে এসি’র যন্ত্রপাতি অতিরিক্ত গরম হয়ে আগুন ধরে যেতে পারে। বেশ কিছুক্ষণ চালিয়ে অন্তত এক-দুই ঘণ্টা এসিকে বিশ্রাম দিন।
২। বছরে অন্তত একবার প্রফেশনাল টেকনিশিয়ান দ্বারা এসি চেক আপ করান। কারণ মেকানিক্যাল বা ইলেকট্রিক্যাল ফল্টের কারণে যে কোন সময় আগুন ধরে যেতে পারে আপনার এসি থেকে। তাই টেকনিশিয়ান দ্বারা চেক করিয়ে রাখুন আপনার এসির কানেকশনে কোন ফল্ট আছে কিনা।
৩। ফিল্টার পরিষ্কার রাখুন; খেয়াল রাখুন যেন এসির ভেতর কিছু জমাট বেঁধে না যায়। আপনার এয়ার কন্ডিশনার এর এয়ার ফিল্টার নিয়মিতি পরিষ্কার করুন বা যদি আপনার পুনঃব্যবহারযোগ্য ফিল্টার থাকে তাহলে একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর তা পরিবর্তন করুন। এটি সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এসি রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের কাজগুলোর মধ্যে একটি। বছরের কিছু সময় যেমন গ্রীষ্ম এবং শীতকালে বা বসন্তের সময় প্রতি মাসে একবার এটি করা উচিত।
৪। ওয়্যারিং পর্যবেক্ষণ; এয়ার কন্ডিশনারে কাজ করার আগে অবশ্যই বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ বন্ধ করে নিন। এটি আপনার বাড়ির প্রধান ব্রেকার প্যানেল থেকে করা যাবে। প্রথমে আপনার কেন্দ্রীভূত ইউনিট এ অ্যাক্সেস প্যানেলটি সরান এবং ওভারহিটিং এর কোনো লক্ষণ আছে কিনা দেখুন। এছাড়াও তারের ওপর গলিত আস্তরণ, কালো বা জ্বলন্ত কিছু খুঁজে পেলে সাথে সাথে বিশেষজ্ঞের সাহায্য নিন। ভেতরের সবগুলো তারের সংযোগ টাইট করে লাগানো কিনা দেখে নিন।
৫। বৈদ্যুতিক হাই ভোল্টেজ এড়ানোর জন্য ভবনগুলোর ছাদে বজ্রনিরোধক ব্যবস্থা রাখুন।
৬। নকল এসি ব্যবহার থেকে বিরত থাকুন। অনেক সময় নিম্নমানের ও মানহীন যন্ত্রাংশ এসব নকল এসিতে ব্যবহার করে বিখ্যাত কোন এসির নাম ও লোগো দিয়ে বাজারে বিক্রি করা হয়। তাই এসি কেনার সময় অবশ্যই সতর্কতা অবলম্বণ করতে হবে।
৭। গরমের শুরুতে এসির বৈদ্যুতিক সংযোগ, সকেট, ফিল্টার—এসবের অবস্থাটা ঠিকমতো পরীক্ষা করতে হবে। অনেক দিন বন্ধ থাকার পর চালু করতে গেলে অবশ্যই এসির সংযোগ তার পরীক্ষা করে নেওয়া উচিত। অনেক দিন বন্ধ থাকার কারণে চালু করলে এসির ভেতরে শব্দ হতে থাকে। আবার পানিও পড়তে পারে।
