What is pressure?

চাপ :

 কোন নির্দিষ্ট জায়গায় বা কেন্দ্রে কোন বস্তু যে বল বা ভর প্রয়ােগ করে উহাই চাপ । মনে করি টেবিলের উপর একটি খাতা রয়েছে । ঐ খাতাটি একটি নির্দিষ্ট জায়গা জুড়ে আছে এবং ঐ জায়গায় এ খাতার ওজনে চাপ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে । যদি ঐ জায়গার ক্ষেত্রফল " A " এবং খাতার ভর বা খাতার বল " হয় তবে চাপ ‘ P = অর্থাৎ চাপ

চাপের এককঃ

 চাপ মাপার নির্দিষ্ট একক আছে , বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রে পি , এস , আই ( PSI ) ৰা পাউন্ড পার স্কয়ার ইঞ্চি হিসাব করা হয় তাছাড়াও চাপের আরও বিভিন্ন একক প্রচলিত  ঃ Bar , Kpa , Kg / Cm . PS , চাপের বিভিন্ন এককের সম্পর্ক ১ বার = ১৪ . ৫ বা ১৪ . ৭ পি , এস , আই = ১০০ কে , পি , এ = ১ . ০৩ Kg / Cm
